Great Invention

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

There are very few residential buildings that I've been to in Iasi that have central heat and air.  In fact, I don't think I've been to one.  These concrete buildings don't have the facilities for running duct work.  And the windows here aren't designed to hold A/C units, so here is what they do....

They drill a hole in the wall, and run a tube.  Outside the building they mount the one part of the unit, and inside they mount the blower where the air come out.  It works great, but that isn't the "great invention" that I mention.

Remote Control.

Yes, the A/C unit is controlled with a remote.  Amazing!  I have GOT to get me one of these... I can adjust the temp, adjust the fan, all from the touch of a button, and I don't even have to get out of bed.  Heaven on Earth....

Good thing too, as it's getting hot here now.
